Access is THE inclussive edge
It may be fair to say that in and around my place of work, there’s a lot of old meets contemporary buildings, beautiful laneways, footpath dining, and markets opening up most weekends throughout the year. The vibrant atmosphere is enriched by the mix of architectural styles, providing a unique backdrop for both locals and visitors. I’ll be the first to admit that finding something accessible and promotes inclusivity online that excites me is quite a challenge; however, when I do come across something low cost, I’m interested in enging in something new, like a meet up group orvisiting my local Art gallery where contempoary art and fashion seemlessly fusses wiith culture. . Accessibility plays a crucial role in my searches, as I seek places where stairs and ramps are the options that foster an all-inclusive experience for everyone, allowing people of all abilities to enjoy the spaces equally. Narrow footpaths, which I normally attribute to density and inner-city dwellings, often present a challenge, especially in areas where shopfronts and steep curbing become our nemesis. Integration is slowly and ever so surely catching up with the times in terms of accessing everyday services. \Footpaths are shared and everyone uses paths in a manner that suits them usually, creating a dynamic yet sometimes chaotic scene. All we’re suggesting is that E-bikers look both ways before cutting vehicles in motion off and give way to folks with family’s with children and young ones in prams, people in wheelchirs & mobility scooters who access said paths, please! Navigating these environments also teaches us the importance of patience and understanding, as these interactions can lead to unexpected conversations and connections. Yet, it’s this very blend of challenges and beauties that makes exploring my neighborhood so engaging, as there’s always something new to discover or a hidden gem waiting to be uncovered, whether it be a quaint café tucked away on a side street, a vibrant market bustling with life and creativity, or a street art mural that tells a story of the community’s rich history and ongoing journey.Inclusive environments should be just that: ever body accessing communites of their choosing,, all the while being free to be…. may be continued
